Carnaby’s of Carnamah – Rectangle Paper Print
Helen Ansell Square Fine Art Canvas Prints – also available as a Rectangle Canvas Print.
“This painting is a celebration of the locality of Carnamah. The town’s floral emblem is the Harlequin Bells (Darwinia polychroma) which feature in this design, a dwarf shrub that is restricted to a 10 km range in the Carnamah area of WA. The Carnaby Black Cockatoos, although an endangered species, are often spotted in this area, as are the quandong trees.” Helen Ansell
This painting celebrates the locality of Carnamah, a Wheatbelt town of Western Australia. The range of Carnaby’s cockatoos (Calyptorhynchuslatirostris) is from Cape Arid to the east, Lake Cronin, Hatters Hill and Lake Moore inland, and Kalbarri to the north. However breeding takes place in areas of higher rainfall. They are most commonly found in wandoo or salmon gum woodlands. Hence they are often seen around this town. Its floral emblem is the Harlequin Bells (Darwinia polychroma) which feature in this design, a dwarf shrub that is restricted to a 10 km range in the Carnamah area. Quandong trees (Santalum acuminatum) are also often spotted in this area.
