Native Blue Cornflower – Square Paper Print

Description

This perennial herb grows in all Australian states and territories. Its habitat is wide ranging being found in woodlands, open forest and sand plains. In Western Australia it is generally found everywhere except in the wetter regions south of Perth and the northern Kimberley, and in the coastal Pilbara. It is a very ornamental species, with a hemispherical cluster of many crowded flowers on a single stem, providing the pincushion effect. The stem is about 50cm in height. Flowering usually occurs in spring following adequate seasonal rains, and is often one of the last wildflowers to bloom.
