Banksias – Mini Original Painting
This 30 × 30cm original painting takes its inspiration from the banksia forms featured in my Thanksgiving Flowers IIpainting.
The Thanksgiving Flowers series began with the native flower arrangement from my dad Don’s funeral Thanksgiving service. I kept the bouquet afterwards and allowed the flowers to dry naturally. I have always loved dried Australian flowers, and the changing shapes, colours and textures of that arrangement became the starting point for three larger paintings created for my 2026 exhibition, A Walk in the Wildflowers – A Homage to My Father and the Country We Love.
For this smaller work, I’ve returned to the banksia forms from Thanksgiving Flowers II, bringing them together in a new 30 × 30cm composition.
