Thanksgiving Flowers I by Helen Ansell
Thanksgiving Flowers I
Inspired by the native flowers I kept from Dad's thanksgiving service.
The flowers I kept
After Dad's funeral, I kept the native flower arrangement from his thanksgiving service. I've always loved dried Australian flowers, so I let the bouquet dry naturally.
As the colours and shapes changed, it became the starting point for three different paintings. I didn't try to copy the arrangement exactly. Each painting is my own interpretation of those flowers.
