Galah Tree is a painting Helen’s father, Don, had been encouraging her to create for years. He loved the sight of galahs gathered throughout a tree, their pink plumage amongst the branches reminding him of a magnolia covered in pink flowers.

The idea stayed in the back of Helen’s mind for years. She often carries ideas for paintings for a long time before eventually putting them onto canvas, and this was one Don returned to again and again. Galah Tree is the painting he had always wanted her to make.
